I’m sure it won’t surprise anyone to learn that a large portion of the population isn’t completely content with their appearance.
It just indicates that it’s very normal for people to stare in the mirror and wish their complexion, hair, or nose were a bit less blemished. This doesn’t necessarily suggest they’re yearning to improve their look in any significant way. In many ways, the inability to be satisfied with our appearance is a characteristically human weakness, and it appears that since social media became more popular, this tendency has only increased.
While it may not be uncommon to fantasize of having a different appearance, relatively few people ever truly go about making significant changes to who they are. This is a godsend, in my opinion, especially since you never know how you’ll appear following a surgery.
Of course, some people choose to go farther than others. You are familiar with the kind of people I mean—those who are prepared to shell out enormous sums of money for operations designed to change their appearance.
The 30-year-old Baghdad resident Dalia Naeem has spent a lot of money attempting to resemble a Barbie doll. She has reportedly undergone about 43 cosmetic surgeries in an attempt to mimic Barbie’s appearance, and she is now known as the “Iraqi Barbie.”
In addition to her career as an actress and presenter in her home country, Dalia is quite active on social media, keeping her devoted Instagram following informed about her most recent accomplishments.
The 30-year-old has a whopping 1 million fans on the platform, many of whom express their delight each time she goes under the knife or gets another procedure.
Needless to say, interest in Dalia’s transition has been huge, particularly since she’s virtually now unrecognizable compared to the woman she was before she set off on the road of body modification.

Yet while Dalia herself appears hell-bent on further altering her appearance, she does have her detractors. She’s been labeled a “zombie” by some commenters on Instagram, while another called her a “Devil Barbie.”
We feel we’d be remiss in our duties if we didn’t categorically state our belief that no one should ever feel the need to alter their appearance. We are all beautiful just the way we are, and it’s our differences that make us truly unique.
That said, though Dalia’s journey might not be for everyone, the main thing is that she seems content with her decisions.
